Is There a Purpose to this Show?

Really, I have to ask. This is as exciting as....well....watching paint dry which is what we see a lot of in this. The only thing entertaining is when the crazy old coot walks around with his imaginary elephant trunk (A tree branch, IF you were wondering). It’s not as his personality is magnetic, I mean really what the hell is this? How high were the folks at HBO when they ordered this?
