You did a whole post about this?? ~10 years, especially if the man is older, doesn't even make anybody blink twice. Anyway, he woke her up because he was captivated by her, and it's not exactly news that adult men generally are attracted to women somewhat younger due to evolutionary pressure to increase likelihood of fertility.
And, they made a point of showing how different the two were--different passenger statuses, different goals, etc. age difference is one more thing.
Pratt can pass as a 32 years old. So the age difference is only 4 years.

In Six Days Seven Nights, Anne Heche ( b.1969 ) falls for Harrison Ford ( b.1942 ) ; when she is 27 years younger.
The current Mrs Harrison Ford is Calista Flockhart ( b.1964 ) who is 32 years younger.
Why can't movies be more accurate to real life ?

Well I was 38 when I met my wife. She was 25. 15 years and two beautiful children later we are still very happy together.
When I was in my 20s ; I thought that a man in his 50s, with a woman in her 20s. was gross.
Now I'm in my 50s ; I have a much more mature attitude to life, and think it would be fine.
I agree with the OP that it is fairly unrealistic.
In real life, the 40 year-old man would probably be interested in women aged 18-22.
U make it sound like a 70 year old man, 15 year old. Eww BTW but anyways Chris is gorgeous! He will make a hot 50 year old.
