The insurmountable plot hole is...

Space travel is baloney so the very basis of the movie is a plot hole. Earth is flat.

Oh no.. I better not watch this film then because films can only be true to life! What films meet your approval criteria?

reply

You should meet Darwin and see what he thinks about that.

My biggest issue was the ship has 5,000 paying passengers and only one medical bay and pod! What's up with that? I know it fit the story to have just one, but a little more thought could have dealt with this issue.

reply

Yeah, I agree with that and so did many others who saw the movie with me... one autodoc for 5000 folks... nah, not even Weyland-Yutani would be that sinister.

reply

Thanks. Good to know I'm not going crazy! Enjoyed certain aspects of the film but won't watch it again.

The amount of time that's passed, it doesn't correlate. They're living in a world where this has been done so often, like there's a constant communication with the two planets, not with 120 years of space travel between them. And I don't see why it would be financially viable to colonize the second planet if it's so hard to travel to and from it, not to mention selling tickets for the ride, I don't see how that would be profitable given the cost of it. Eh. A lot of plot holes. Still a fun movie though.
