But I prefer the movie to the musical. I especially like that Stacee Jaxx is more of a sympathetic character in the film as compared to the Broadway show. The one thing better is that the Broadway show had more songs.

I agree totally. I was surprised to see the stage show so different after seeing the movie first, but I think the story the movie went with was far better. This random German developer trying to buy the whole strip is really really lame compared to the very realistic-to-the-times decency group trying to clean up the strip. That packs a lot more punch I think. I didn't like Sherrie actually sleeping with Stacee. Makes you like her a whole let less. Everything with the manager was a fantastic addition. You nailed it with the way Stacee was portrayed. For me, the biggest improvement was just the acting. Stage acting is so over the top you're rolling your eyes half the time.
