I kept waiting for it to get better

But it never did. I kept thinking it was perhaps meant to be cute, or something I wasn't getting.

And maybe I missed something at the beginning, but I thought the character of Bennie was a girl. He looked like one, at least to me.

I like stories set on the "Res," as the Navaho reservation is called. I'm thinking of all the Tony Hillerman novels, not the film adaptations. But this film didn't come close to those novels.

It's a 5.0 on the IMDB scale of 1 to 10, at least in my opinion.
