If this ISN'T the most depressing film what is?

Have you seen something sadder? I haven't, well maybe Cannibal Holocaust, but that is a very exploitative film.. Okay those two are the most depressing films that made me feel sad after and while watching them.

How about you guys/gals?

Mavis, I'm a married man!

Never Let Me Go is definitely one of the most depressing, but beautiful films i have seen.

Grave Of The Fireflies is just as powerful too, but in a very different way.

1984. The one made in 1984.

It was depressing, but that kind of boring-depressing that doesn't touch me. Maybe I had difficulties in buying the story and consequently failed to feel for the characters, or maybe I simply did not like it.

Vagabond (1986). In the first scene of this film the frozen corpse of the lead character is discovered in a ditch somewhere in the grim French countryside. In the subsequent flashbacks it is all downhill from there on.
