Anti shark repelant

Someone should invent one.... something that if you fall in the water can be used as a weapon against the shark or some sonar that will repell the sharks.

OK Guys, some funny comments on here. Some stupid ones too.

SharkPod & Shark Shield are 2 products that emit electrical pulses which interfere with sharks natural electroreception along their snout and sides, used to pickup small electrical charges created by muscle movement etc.

These products have been tested on Great Whites outside cages in open water and have proved effective. Once switched on the sharks stay far enough away to avoid the electical pulse.

As far as a weapon against a large great white power heads or shark sticks have been around since at least the 50's. They are sessentially a spear modified to discharge a bullet or shotgun cartridge upon impact. They have been used widely in shark hunting and self defence situations with sharks.

However, both these items may well have proved useless in this case as the characters did not enter the water voluntarily but rather capsized. They may not have been able to find these items in the upturned hull. Surely the characters would have taken more items if they had more time to search the capsized hull without fear of it sinking and taking them down with it.

The US Navy try to make a shark repellent for servicemen to use against sharks.Unfortunately to no avil see USS Indianapolis sinking the repellent was believed when used the sharks could not see the men in the water. There was not much at the time really known about sharks but they can see in really murky water. You may not know it's even there but it know your there and if it thinks your a nice treat it will bite you.Sharks are mostly feared but most the time they let go others will swallow you whole. When swimming in the ocean remember these tips if you have a cut or bleeding any where stay out the water never go swimming early morning hours or at night that when there more activity if a shark has been spotted in the area stay out the water. There attracted to bad swimmers they can smell blood in the water up to 5 miles or less beware when swimming in the ocean never pee in the water sharks can smell it.Be safe and take care.Josh.D

Take the Batmobile back to 1966 and see how Adam West's Batman handled sharks

There is currently available, for free, a 100% effective shark repellent. It's called, "The Shade of an Oak Tree". By simply standing in the shade of an oak, you are guaranteed to have total protection from a shark.

Julia Child already invented this in old timey days:

"Decades before becoming a famous chef, she worked for the Office of Strategic Services. (The OSS was the predecessor to the CIA.) She was assigned to solve a problem for U.S. naval forces during World War II: Sharks would bump into explosives that were placed underwater, setting them off and warning the German U-boats they were intended to sink.

"So... Julia Child and a few of her male compatriots got together and literally cooked up a shark repellent," that was used to coat the explosives, McCarthy says."

If I sailed boats for a living, I would buy one of those automatically opening, canopied life-rafts (about $1200+) and carry at least one on every boat I used.
