A period setting might be best bet as goes back to the original Fleming Bond/ColdWar era, it feels like theyve exhausted the modern era with Craig, there's the Mission Impossible movies to compete with, too much woke stuff in modern era, and there's the matter of Bond being dead in the current era! also some of th eFleming novels are radically different to the movies so a more faithful adaptation of say Moonraker or TSWLM set in the 50s/60s wouldnt feel like too much a remake of the original films
