Aren't most crack-whores blank canvases anyways? Don't really care about much in life other than getting their next fix and selling themselves for dollars? Would you be very optimistic or witty if you were someone who probably didn't know what was going on around you half the time?

I'm sorry I just don't see how people found her attractive. She's playing a drug addict and a street hooker, and she did a good job looking the part.

She looked like she hadn't been hooking/smoking long, like maybe 6 months. I got the impression she had run away from home within the year. In that case, she looked the part enough.

She is very cute. I especially love the part when she lays down next to him and bed and snuggles up in the blanket. Reminds me of my female friend who stayed over at my house for a week. That whole "let's sleep together but no touching" really hits home with me. It's really pure.

shareShe was pretty attractive in this. Had to look her up afterward...and this movie did NOT do her hotness justice. Wow. I think I'd only seen her before in 40 Year Old Virgin. She was cute in that, beginning to get hot (what was she, 17-18 when 40 Year Old Virgin was filmed?), but she's certainly grown up now.
The funny thing was, I was listening to the Commentary, and when it got to the scene near the end with Elias Koteas, when they're on the couch together, right before she shoots him, someone said "this is like pedophilia" and everyone agreed. I know its a big, hot button issue right now, but this is getting ridiculous, since she's clearly a fully grown young woman. What was she, early 20s when she made the film? Even if she was playing younger, it was clear she was AT LEAST an older teen, so I fail to see the whole pedophilia thing. Predator sure, so maybe it was terminology confusion, but I think anytime there's an age difference like that, people are getting waaaaay too self righteous and trigger happy about that thing. No pun intended ;-)
And as to people not understanding why guys could find her hot in this role, due to her occupation/habits: Ummm...no one's heard of being attracted to the "bad girl"? I usually only attract good girls (which strikes me as a bit weird, but whatever), but I've always had an unrequited fascination type thing with bad girls. Especially if they have a good heart underneath like her character did. A sweetness, that could appreciate the same in a guy. I just feel like being with them would be exciting, like they'd know how to get me out of my shell, etc. And I mean, apparently lots of girls prefer "bad boys", probably for much the same reasons, you hear about it wherever you go on imdb for better or worse, so as far as I'm concerned, this is just the reverse. What's wrong with that? The heart is complicated...we are who we are and we like who we like. Why pretend otherwise?

Mind yourself on seeking the bad girls...internal "perceived" sweetness or not. They are a handful and labeled "bad girls" for a reason. They're sexy because they're naughty...the way they carry themselves, etc. Men who are more submissive tend to gravitate toward them, while these 'bad girls' gravitate toward abusive, controlling men. It's a roller coaster in which there's always more than 2 parties involved. Depending upon the ride you're seeking, you might want to look elsewhere. Drugs do tend to get in the way and alter their personalities (which typically trigger their quest for being dominated or going dark). It's a ride.
