Casting Pacino as Hoffa was a travesty

Every time Pacino is on the screen it takes me a second or two to remind myself that his character is not one of the mobsters.

Al Pacino is one of those actors that simply plays himself in most of the roles I have seen him in, and this role was no different.

I have no idea what Hoffa sounded like, but I doubt he had that New York / Bronx accent of Pacino's (did he even try to change his normal accent?).

I love the movie, but I agree... It is the big weak.spot of the movie. It's a good performance, but its all Pacino, no Hoffa.

Shame they couldn't get Jack Nicholson out of retirement to do Hoffa again and give Pacino another gangster role or something. Would have truly been an all time amazing cast then too (still pretty good)

Still though, it did mean we had many great scenes of Al and Bobby together, which I guess was one of the aims of the casting.
