It lacked a much needed intensity to some degree, but it's still far better than ninety percent of everything released today.
The aha-moment should have been far more dramatic. So should other key scenes. It suffers from too much pretty pictures and not enough focus on the depth of the story and the characters.

The music was wildly inappropriate. I typically love good music in a film but this was too loud and really off putting. Also, although all the actors did a fabulous job, the use of names Joe and john showed up in nearly every exchange between the actors. It seemed stiff and not how people actually speak to each other.
Ya, I turned to my Wife and said 'how many Joes and Johns are in this movie?'
Then Dave showed up.
