Please tell me its not boring

Yes it is big time, Micheal Shannon looks uncomfortable though out the whole movie, that's really saying something because he's a good actor.

It was a struggle to get through. I thought Shannon was the best thing in it. He looks "uncomfortable" in most of his roles, indignant, baffled, or awkward, with underlying menace. He does not seem to have a great range but "owns" the screen.

What was the point of the Rosanna Arquette character? She just disappeared out of the movie.

It was a mess, and I hated all the snobbish gourmet stuff, but I have to admit it was a different sort of mess than the usual "straight-to-DVD" effort.

My copy had a poor sound-track. What with Poots' poor enunciation, several characters speaking with European accents, and a lot of loud music, I missed a lot of dialog first time round.

It was the most boring movie i have seen this year .

reply

Yes, it's boring. One of the hazards of trying to be brooding and contemplative is that if you don't pull it off, you are stuck with boring.

Frankly, my summary of the movie is 'Off-kilter chef falls for f'ed up slut, can't decide whether the sex is worth the lunacy & in the end she leaves him probably sparing him a life of lies and misery.

reply

Nope.

my interest held steady throughout the movie.

6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) (at worst... 5/10(Thumbs Down, but good enough for a viewing))

p.s. but then again there is only around 100 movies out of the 2,025+ total i have seen that i could not finish due to boredom. so only around 5% of every movie i see (or 1 out of every 20 movies) gets turned off due to boredom.
