Well... I certainly won't ever forget this film

I watched this film a few days ago, and I still find myself thinking about it. I suppose this is a desired effect the film makers were going for. So, kudos to them.

But, other than being extreme, and depicting some of the most disgusting things people can think of, the movie really has no value. It's not really "entertaining," in the common sense of the word. It doesn't really give the viewer anything to think about, other than in the meta, "why/how was this movie made," kind of sense.

I guess the director claims this movie was an allegory for Serbian history, or whatever, but I'm pretty sure that's bogus. The concept of the movie may have been inspired, in a shallow sense, by the general feeling of being fucked at birth; but it's no Divine Comedy.

I didn't particularly like this movie. The cinematography and acting was pretty good. It's memorable because of how over-the-top it is. But, it's not entertaining or thoughtful.

I guess I can see why people who like watching gore/torture porn would like it, because it's pretty extreme and depicts what a lot of people consider the most despicable crimes (rape, child rape, and torture). But, I don't understand why people like these kinds of movies. I, personally, don't find any value in them. I'm more of a psychological thriller kind of guy.

if you didn't know anything about this film before you watched it other than just the plot you read on the description would it be more impactful and harder to take than if you knew a lot about what happens in it?
