Will we see Eddie Brock's same backstory from the comics? Will they mention how the symbiote was with Spider-Man before going to Brock? Will we find out, for instance, why Eddie Brock hates Spider-Man? I know it's just a teaser, but I get the impression, Spider-Man will have little to nothing to do with this. In the comics, he had everything to do with Eddie Brock/Venom. If Eddie Brock becomes Venom in the movie and has Spider-Man-like powers, and there is no Spider-Man, it will make no sense.

I'm guessing Infinity Wars will see Spider-Man adopt the symbiote at some point and for him to discard it in the post credits scene.

The whole thing was that it went to Spidey first and when he rejected the symbiote, it found Eddie Brock. That explains why Venom has all of Spider-Man's powers and more. It also explains his look. So I can't see them having Eddie Brock become Venom without Spider-Man being involved. I'm hoping the backstory is told in flashbacks if it's not going to be the beginning of the movie. You can't have a Venom movie without Spider-Man. He has to be in there. It's a must. Not that it was one of my favorite movies, but Suicide Squad was able to incorporate Batman. Even though it was flashbacks.
