am i wrong about this movie? is it actually a really good movie?

the first time i watched it in a theater i thought it was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. but after watching it with a friend he said it was a well made movie, it was good. and to keep his interest in it all the way through and for him to like it is a big achievement for a movie because he's one of the toughest movie critics i've ever met. he picks apart almost every movie he's ever watched in the past 15 years. he also said the two leads gave great performances.

the problem i had with it is nothing interesting or great happens. there's no standout scenes that are great. and it feels like a cheap and dumb, and bad lifetime movie movie with no quality.
