Can't keep on watching this
I watched the 1st episode and 3/4 of the 2nd. I'm bored out of my mind and under the impression of watching a caricature. Definitely NOT 8.4/10... not for me at least.

I think a lot of people were rating this highly just because it's the first Arab series on Netflix. 🙄 (Or the only one I know of, anyway.)
I found it extremely weak and not worthy of my time.
It's funny you say that because I just posted, this morning, on the "Black Spot" (Zone Blanche) page about not letting the "foreign nature of a show" fool you. It's a french show and I think it is rated highly just because of its "exotic" nature. French is my native language and I've watched a couple of episodes and it REALLY is nothing special. It doesn't deserve it's rating either.
I don't know... to me it looks like people tend to give higher notes when it's coming outside of the usual USA-type production. The other language/nationality dimension seems to positively taint the viewing experience in some kind of way. Like people unconsciously think: "It's not that good but since it's kind of exotic, let's give it more appreciation than it deserves."
Nah, I am sure it was just the Arabs voting.
I don't believe even for a second that any of those ratings reflect genuine art appreciation.
