shareI heard somewhere that the fact that Chugs, Claire, and Jessica all died by being impaled in the mouth had two symbolic meanings.
#1:Since they were the main ones that opted to not go to the police to report the accidental death of Megan and rather forced Cassidy and Ellie to keep the secret, they hypocritically told somebody closest to them about the crime. A secret they've sworn to keep yet told someone else most likely due to a guilty conscience. That takes into account that they ran their mouths(in Jessica's case, one too many times) when they were the ones who didn't want the authorities to get involved and thus, paid dearly with their lives for breaking their own rule.
#2:These three girls are shown to be promiscuous, totally slutty, reckless, and self-absorbed. It's been heavily implied a couple of times throughout the film that their sexual behavior is rather excessive and starting to cause problems(ex. Chugs sleeping with her psychiatrist and Jessica was the girl that Garrett was cheating on Megan with). Especially the way they act and dress. So possibly, an object or weapon impaled through the mouth represented their disgusting, rampant sexual behavior. In which makes them gross and indecent even in death.
In both cases, it just shows you what happens when your mouth gets you into trouble.
