Is it just me or or does Ethan constantly get treated like a lesser person in life?

I can't help but feel bad for Ethan that he constantly gets treated like a lesser person in life because I've been down that road before, I also can't help but have Peter remind me of those who have treated me like a lesser person, I think in the end it was good for Peter to deal with people like Ethan.
