Most Contrived Death Scenes + Danny Huston

Easily the silliest death scene was Emma's friend stepping out of Gibson's car and getting run over. What kind of hitman does that? How did he know the exact moment she'd step out? Maybe I'd have to watch it again, but was he racing back n' forth during their conversation?

You know what he could have done would've been smarter than running her over? Anything.

How about you roll up next to their car and unload an assault rifle?

Then there's Gibson's daughter. They poison her twice, first with radiation, then with lead. Makes no sense.

Gibson: They bring him back to the evil head-quarters to poison him despite the fact there were so many opportunities to just kill the guy and be done with it. Why risk moving him around? "Because it can be traced back to his daughter." Yeah, because that's been working out so well.

Then there's Danny Huston. This guy sucks as an actor. Worse, he's type-cast as the bad guy. Always.

If it's not enough that you immediately recognize him as the bad guy from a half-dozen other movies, the costume people put him in a double-breasted suit. If that's not enough, he's the head of a "defense" contractor. If that's not enough, his corporate headquarters is built into the freaking side of a mountain. If THAT'S -- yeah, I'm not close to finishing. If THAT'S not enough it has big glass walls. And, and, AND they show him shaking hands with Bush and Cheney.

That last line had me laughing out loud. :D

Thanks, but I need to proof-read my posts.

If you watch carefully, the friend made it clear people had been to see her, so she was likely being surveilled. It makes sense that the car meant to drive past and then perhaps do a return run, hoping not to be noticed, but to keep an eye on the proceedings and then maybe continue to follow her.

She opened the door as they took a pass, they were close (maybe trying to glimpse inside). Then the inevitable outcome of that.

When they turned to attack, that was probably Plan B after what just happened.

No.
Easily the silliest death scene ...
It wasn't. She survives, but is said to have lost a leg.🐭

reply

The incompetent hit man couldn't even kill her.
