I think Stallone is too old to play Rambo

Stallone is in a catch-22 in "Last Blood." In his seventies he's too old to convincingly take on truly menacing opponents as he did with the Soviet Spetsnaz in "Rambo" parts 2 and 3, so he's left taking on amateur thugs like a Mexican cartel, which doesn't make for a very compelling foe in comparison. The only time I felt he was in any threat was when is stupidly walked into the cartel stronghold to tell whomever was in charge to let the girl go. That was a very un-Rambo move. Because he's a senior citizen I don't think there was anyway to make this movie as good as the previous ones. The next one he'd have to take on a Scout troop.

He was captured in the other films as well. His live for his adopted daughter was so great he stepped into it. But he made up for it in the end and kicked ass. I liked the film but it should have been a bit longer...

Well, I think his character's actions in the movie were fairly realistic. He didn't do half marathons, sprints or mountain climbing as a pensioner. And didn't magically recover from the beating, pulling out an IV the next morning.
