I saw the film today in Holland where it came out this week and I really loved it! It's a refreshing romantic comedy that doesn't feel like most American romcoms and is truly funny and touching. The two leads, especially Zeta-Jones, are great and the child actors are also terrific.

It's hilarious and heartwarming. I was really laughing outloud during some scenes. And Jones and Bartha had awesome chemistry. I can't believe there's no distribution deal for the US yet. It's every bit as great as The Proposal and the Hangover, the two biggest comedies of the year.
Definitely worth checking out.
The Rebound is more funny and much better written than both the Hangover (was not really funny!) and the Proposal.

The Rebound is original, refreshing, and truly funny, while The proposal was actually pretty cliched and boring and the ending was totally a ripoff of "While You Were Sleeping". Sandra Bullock's acting was exactly the same in both films, except she looked younger in WYWS.

shareI just saw this movie. I had prejudices against the difference of age, I thought it would disgust me, but I was proven wrong and I enjoyed it so much. It was so fresh, so charming. Catherine Zeta-Jones is beautiful and likable as usual, but Justin Bartha was a revelation to me: he was just great. Some people won't like this film because it's not the standard, cliched, rom-com boy-meets-girl sort of thing. I'm so tired of watching the same thing over and over. This movie is different. It's totally worth seeing.

I loved that the characters had unexpected backgrounds and values, ones that significantly clashed with their friends and family. That's what made the movie so emotionally relational to me. Plus, they made the male lead HEROIC. I'd like to meet someone like that, just for a bromance.
Separately, I know it's very important to have a female lead that's as drop dead gorgeous as possible, because female beauty is one of our favorite commodities, but damn. Zeta is hawt, she keeps the fantasy alive. There, I admitted that I'm just shallow enough to appreciate it.
That's it. Go see it, it'd make a fantastic date movie.

Well acted, funny, great dialog, good pace. Even though the story wasn't something special, it was very well delivered and believable.

I reaaally enjoyed watching this movie. It was both heart warming and at parts really funny.
This is one of those movies that is so sweet and perfect it will give you a toothache. If you're the kind of person that believes in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus then this is the movie for you.
The acting was good, the chemistry between the two leads were good, but the story and the writing in some of the critical scenes were not good. And that travel around the world sequence was painful to watch - who travels around the world alone? People that write movies should really give their audience some credit even in a romantic comedy.
This is a throwaway movie, unless you believe in the tooth fairy.

I just saw it today in Austria. My girlfriedn dragged me to see this and I was sure it would be just another romcom, but I stand corrected. It was a really good movie. Smart, funny, touching, good acting and chemistry between the leads.
