How did she get away the first time (some mid-point spoilers)

When Furiosa got away from Rictus, and disguised herself as a boy and then eventually found a hiding place as a 'dogman' and working with all the mechanics building the vehicles, was there not a big search hunt for the missing girl (Little D) whom Immortan Joe had taken from Dementus? She was a pretty big prized possession of Joe, so would there not be a big deal that she had gone missing? I didn't catch that, if it was in the movie.
