This is definitely only targeted at girls

In the original we had a universal appeal . We had 2 great female leads and a great male lead . We had a relationship between a brother and a sister as the point of focus. There was a POV for both little boys and little girls but I know it already from this trailer that this is targeted at girls and it has no interest in appealing to boys in any way . From the choice of director I knew this was going to be the case already as she only did rom com that were mostly targeted at women. We have the three antagonist that are women and the protagonists that are all girls. The message of the film will be female focused and no longer something everyone can relate to like sibling relationships. Personally I would have rather have a gender mixed cast like the original. Heck if they would have had some of the original protagonist it would have had more of a universal appeal. I have a feeling this will be like most of the shows that are currently playing on the Disney Channel that is only focusing on a female audience. I am going to give it a chance but I just know deep down that this film was only made from the ground up with little girls in mind.
