What happened?!

Let me just start of by saying I love the show and have no idea how I even missed it to begin with. I started watching it a month or so ago. However there was something that caught my eye that really confuses me. Nurse Jackie and her age between season one and two? I have no idea what happened but it looks like she got 5 years older. Maybe they were more aggressive with the makeup in season one for some reason?

I know it's silly of me to even bring something like this up but the difference was so drastic that it really surprised me. I honestly thought that there were quite a few years between the seasons. I haven't looked it up due to spoilers and the like, I'm not through the show just yet.

I think it was more or less to show that she was getting deeper in to the rabbit hole of addiction. Addiction ages people significantly. So they probably changed the way they were doing make up in order to make her appear aged.

Actually I thought she got better looking as the seasons went by.

She (and the majority of women) are more attractive with longer hair. That's not just my oppressive patriarchal opinion; most people, male or female, seem to feel that way (if they are being honest).

What was interesting is that Jackie clearly appears to be a woman who is at least in her fifties, yet in the opening credits sequence, which was used throughout the seven seasons, she appears to be about thirty-five. I don't know if it was done with filters, or computer manipulation, or what, but she definitely looks much younger there than she does in the episodes themselves.
