Ending of series (IMO)

The last drugs she takes isn't "crushed up opiates"; it is street heroin.

Her body is ready for the easy vicodin/oxy....not for greasy horse.

The last scene is her laying her badge down, accepting her out-put to Bellvue.

Remember the first scene of episode one; she is with Eddie. Now she was about about to be with him again but the producers want a climactic finish..

I loved this series from HBO and was able to watch on Netflix.
I personally had a love hate opinion of Jackie. She would do anything to make things work in her favor which was to include lying to those that loved her most.
She was at her best treating patients and would often diagnose better than the doctor due to her years of experience.
Loved her work relationship with Zoey, who idolized her.
I'm not sure if she dies at the end. There is still movement in her eyes which makes me believe there is the slightest chance her cowries get her to the other hospital in time.
On the whole, I loved the series and became very involved with most of the primary characters.

Nurse Jackie is Showtime, not HBO...

I honestly don't think it needs to be speculated on whether she died or not.

To me it was fairly obvious, but as for the drug addiction, I've been there.

You can have a high tolerance, but the street heroin she bought is known to kill people with even a fairly high tolerance.

I took it as just another sign of being an addict. She's moving on...to where we don't know now, but somewhere. It hurt me to see the pain in Zoey's face.

I didn't take it as Jackie's death.

It is going to get wet in here tonight. Lace your boots up, kiddies.

With all due respect, Jackie has been a nurse for decades, has treated heroin addicts, and KNOWS fully well you don't do three big lines of it.

Zoe told her to back off, Eddie is going to jail, O'Hara knows the entire story, and she ended it. The life that kept her comfortable was over and she decided to check out.

Don't be fooled, she KNEW that was waaaaaaaaaay to much heroin.

With all due respect, Jackie was still alive and conscious. She was surrounded by trauma doctors and nurses, and there were medications close at hand to save her. But even more than that--the guy who wrote the episode stated that he believes she survived.
