I watched the pilot and I have to say I really liked the show.
The show feels like it will get really good as it goes on and builds momentum; I just hope it gets good ratings so it stays on the air and has this opportunity.
Ok, I just watched it. Mike Judge needs to come up with some new stuff. He's still working off of bevis and butthead. 'King of the Hill' was nothing more than than an elaborate spin off of the 'Anderson' character from B&B, and this is just an elaborate spin off of the 'Mr. VanDreasen' B&B character. My goodness... He even uses the exact same voices for the charters!!! Originality, it would seem, ended for Judge back in the mid 90's.
ABC has a problem promoting all it's shows. I liked The Goode Family. It has a few kinks to work out, and find it's flow, just like King Of The Hill. I think it could have the staying power of King Of The Hill. We'll just have to wait and see.

I kind of like the show so far, but then again, I thought King of the Hill started out slow mostly because I was used to Beavis and Butt-Head up to that point. Maybe a few more episodes and I think the show will find its auidence.
I know this is an old thread, but I love "The Goode Family."
Too bad it received little publicity and premiering during the summer. It was much funnier and more intelligent than "Cleveland Show" and "American Dad."
I loved this show. Very funny and an excellent parody. I was just on Ebay looking for a DVD of the complete series. Luckily there are a few people selling them for less than $10.
