Rubert Friend's acting was pretty good and I know Cheri was supposed to be delicate looking. But I think someone more masculine looking would have been better.
What do you think and who do you think could have played Cheri?
Don't laugh - but I wonder if Orlando Bloom would have been a better choice??

I thought of Ben Wishaw, also thought a young Jared Leto would have been good, and really pushing the boundaries, wonder what Daniel Ratcliffe (think December Boys, not Harry Potter) could do with it.

Even though the film was in English, I think all of the actors should have been French, with French accents. The English and American accents were a huge distraction.
Rupert was simply perfect!!!! There is no other choice.
From a physical/facial point of view Depp and Bloom would fit. But hence they both cant act, they would have had ruined the movie.
Curious that you would name Orlando Bloom when Friend looks a lot like him actually. I don't see how Bloom is more masculine than Friend, they could be brothers.
