Loved the Film, But RR Looked Uncomfortable Doing Comedy
Plus, he wasn't that good at it. Nolte on the other hand, was GREAT.

shareBB's comedic talent comes with witty or sarcastic one-liners, particularly in response to someone saying something silly or disagreeable to him. Redford managed that fine. By contrast, Nolte's humour was as much non-verbal as verbal.
