As a currently serving Marine

I'm a bit offended that the supposed Marines in the film are shown wearing Army Combat Uniforms.
Is it really to much to ask that somebody gets the camo right?

reply

I agree with the Original Poster. I'm in the Army and was offended they called the soldiers Marines, and here's why: the creators went out of their way to get the uniforms fairly accurate, but didn't care to talk about the right service branch? It's carelessness.

I don't care what the blu-ray said, those weren't Army Rangers either.

For everyone else who is saying "it's not a big deal, get over it," try serving in the military and then get called a branch that isn't your own. See if you still think it isn't a big deal.

I completely agree linkamo. My stepbrother has spent 2 years in Afghanistan fighting those religious *beep* over there and I can easily relate to the idea here. I thought it was a big deal too. Anyone who argues otherwise, based on previous statements in this board, has a lot of asses to kiss.

Don't *beep* with Americans. We *beep* back.

To the original poster:

This is a japanese franchise based on what they believe of the USA.

reply

well this movie was horrible anyway. It just goes to show they didn't pay attention to details or put effort in making the movie interesting. Bland one-dimensional characters, boring ass dialogues, and scenes that drag on for days

reply

this movie was made by japanese people, so why complaint about that small detail, americans rarely portray properly anything thats from out of the states anyways.

I was about to post that...

Since you're naive enough to join military, here's a nice quote for you to remember...

“Patriotism cannot be our final spiritual shelter; my refuge is humanity. I will not buy glass for the price of diamonds, and I will never allow patriotism to triumph over humanity as long as I live. ”

Nobel prize winner, I might add, so he wasn't alone in his views...

...Just a food for thought.

That's a little sanctimonious and pretentious to assume that someone is "naive" when it comes to joining the military. The majority join for a way to pay for college through the GI Bill/Tuition Assistance, as well as a way to earn some money in an otherwise volatile job market.

Not everyone is a mindless drone who blindly signed their life away while beating off to Rambo, salivating at the chance to FUBAR a few Hajis in the sandbox.I question whether you even know anyone in the military? Your shtick has been beaten to death.

I leave you with this food for though....
