I wouldn’t have watched with Josh Brolin

I’m a big fan of Josh Brolin, going back to “no country for old men.” At times in this show, his character even seemed to channel Lywellen Moss (eg his pursuit of Autumn, the shootout in the final episode). I was able to grind it out to the final episode of season 1 mostly because of him. I also like the actress who played his wife, and I like the general cinematography and cowboy/western vibe

But overall - this show is flawed. They try so hard to be weird to the point of incoherence. What is the deal with that bison with the arrows? What is the deal with the bison herd? Why does the Tillerson patriarch act so weird? What’s with his son who sings all the time? Why does Autumn, who turns out to be the granddaughter, hate her family: she watches her father throw himself into the hole, and she tries to kill her grandfather. How did Rebecca suddenly appear at the rodeo; what was she doing all the time? Why did she leave? Where did she go? … and what is the deal with Perry? He confesses to save his family from ruin, yet he jumps in the hole and ensures they will lose the whole ranch?

So much confusion in this show. Without Brolin, I wouldn’t have watched
