Would You Let Your 10 Year Old Daughter Play Esther?

I just saw this film last night, I enjoyed it throughly. However I felt that it was a quite shocking to see such a young girl be so muderous and provocative. My question for you all is if your daughter was offered the part of Eshter, would you let her? I know its acting but I don't think I would let my daughter do such risque and violent scenes. I feel that children these days grow up so fast being exposed to such sexual and violent matters and I would try to shield them from it as much as I could until they are able to handle it. Discuss.

Of course not! That role would be way to sexual and mature for my daughter!

I wouldn't want my 11 year old daughter using the line "I will cut off your harry little pr**k before you even know what it's for" in any movie, i know that much..........

Isabelle was 12 years old when she was cast in the role of Esther. She had quite a number of drama classes under her belt. She comes across as pretty mature for a 12 year old actress. A lot depends on how the role is handled by the director.

People who are not in the film industry have no clue about how a scene is prepared for, hor a character is managed and how that actor is directed. A lot of times, it's the function of the film editor to manipulate the rushes in such a way that a story is told .. films are made in segments .. usually out of sequence.. later they are edited into sequences...... it is the film editor who actually makes the final film you see.

She was 10 or 11 when she was cast, 12 when it was released.

She was actually about 12 but still crazy.
