spoiler...why did MONICA BELLUCCI.......

didnĀ“t understand why she suicide???? just divorce him, but why kill youeself onless she was depress or somthing related...

According to the story she was "crazy". But I agree with your logic. What really happened is that Pippa and her husband planned the murder, or at least she was trying to shoot Pippa when the husband turned the gun on her.

She melodramatically turned the gun on herself, putting it in her mouth when he tried to take it from her. The old guy was obviously attracted to young vulnerable women until the very end of his life.

She was mentally unstable enough to marry that old creep, suicide is not really surprising.

You have a point there, aplastic.

The story was poorly written and directed. It makes no sense.

What I thought when I saw that was that the wife was doing the one thing that would haunt Herb and Pippa the rest of their lives. People do this in real life not infrequently. Kill themselves in front of someone to punish the person. It seemed to work. 25 years laters, Pippa was still disturbed by it.

Having said all that, I'm confused by the very brief flashback later in the movie, to the wife's "suicide," where it appears that Herb struggles with the wife over the gun, and it turns inside the wife's mouth. Very different from the scene when it was shown originally.

I am thinking the first recounting is the correct one, and the flashback is Pippa trying to make the suicide something other than suicide, since it is still bothers Pippa that the wife did that.

Also...suicide fits, when you consider what she said right before it. That she had a dead pig on the table to eat, with the face, because people try to forget what it is they are eating, until they see the face of it. (Just as they are about to see her, the wife's, face blown to bits.)

From the narration during that scene, it suggested to me that she finally felt rid of the guilt (she'd passed the torch to Sandra), as if she'd never shot herself. I think that's what the visuals were supposed to imply.

the movie doesn't make sense. in this part i think they deliberately chose italian actress, hot blood Mediterraneans, also they showed that she cheated on him and he didn't care about that which injured her self esteem. so she was sure she will be dumped.

reply

She wasn't going to suicide originally I don't think. She was distraught and going to kill the younger woman who her husband was leaving her for. He grabbed the gun away from her and in a split second she grabbed it back and put it in her mouth probably not even thinking straight.
