I give this film a 5/10

I think it’s an average film.

The good:

1). The dog is cute
2). Channing Tatum is able to carry the film by himself (the dog can’t talk). Most of the movie involved his talking to himself in the car. I’m impressed that these solo scenes don’t come across as awkward or forced

The bad:

1). Very predictable ending. We all knew, from the start, that he would learn to get along with the dog and, thus, choose to adopt the dog. There was no chance that he’s let the dog die

2). The movie felt a little slow. I didn’t like the stuff with Kevin Nash, which seemed contrived

3). The subplot involving Tatum’s daughter and ex-wife wasn’t developed enough. Why did his ex-wife become estranged? And why does she make amends at the end? The movie doesn’t say
