Really shows here. They're not that integral to the plot. Yeah, Robbie and Amber hoped they'd show up, and were more than happy to try to kill them. But their focus was Sam and Tara. Had Sidney and Gale not shown up, they could've still carried out their plan with really no other changes. Guessing that reflects the script-writing process.
