Julianne Moore - Poor mans Eva Green

Julianne Moore is usually an adequate actress, but for this role you really wanted somebody more like Eva Green.

reply

While I don't agree with how you phrased it, I do agree that Greene seems like a better fit.

reply

Shes 20 years younger ...

reply

so?

reply

Its much easier to stay fit when you are around thirties. Moore was perfect in Boogie Nights and she still looks good today.

reply

LOLL!! I didn't say that Eva is more fit, I that she is a better fit (as in, for the character).

I love Julianne Moore. No doubt, she's still beautiful.

reply

Lol , sorry ...

reply

I disagree! Julianne was cool as Malkin and she even turned into a freaking dragon!!

reply

So when you use the phrase "poor mans Eva Green" you imply that Eva Green is Perrier and Julianne is just seltzer. It doesn't matter if Eva Green or Julianne Moore are better for this part. Your heading is insulting to Julianne Moore, who is amazing. Too not be partial, all those comments about Eva Green's nudity, apparently haven't seen the 30 movies Julianne Moore is nude in.

reply

And Eva Green is the rich man's Julianne Moore?? Just admit it, you are only interested in nude and sex scenes. Go watch some pron, the rich men's choice, right?
Yet, agree miscast of Moore, she is not good at playing the villain.

reply

In general, no, but I suspect that Eva Green would have been far, far more enjoyable in this role. Moore is not really good in villain roles. Famke Janssen would also have probably been really good in the role too (though she had just done a similar role in Hansel & Gretel).

reply

How bad that the film was lumbered with an Oscar winner!

Its that man again!!

reply

I disagree that she is a poor mans Eva Green. Moore is more than an A-list than Green. But Green is younger, will surely make her marks, and yes, I think she would have been the better witch. Moore didn't fit here. Compared to Streep's witch (Into the Woods) she should be ashamed. On the other hand she had to deal with a ridiculous weak and one-dimensional character.

So much of a cliche...when she kills a subordinate just for looking at her...WTF?!
Or the parade of her lieutants...awful.
