Were those CGI door beads?

In the beginning of this movie the characters walk through a door with hippie beads and then the camera just melts right through it. Did they actually waste money making CGI beads just for a gimmicky camera shot that had me wondering more about how they did it than the actual scene presented? Man, Hollywood is broken.
