pluses and minuses

Just watched this after renting from Redbox. I like stories on the ocean, as I like the feeling of isolation when characters are trapped and have nowhere to run to, or if they're lost at sea. This is no "Dead Calm", but it was passable for 90 minutes. Attractive leads, but once the characters are introduced, it plays out exactly like you expect. Revelations aren't anything you don't already know is going to be the case. And characters react in ways that make no sense, with their actions contrived just to try and throw the audience off. There's clever ways to do that, but this movie doesn't have any of those up its sleeve.
