Pig's connection to Northern Exposure (1990 TV show)

I started watching Pig with my sister, who was an avid Northern Exposure fan (she had taped every episode)... early on, I mentioned that Nicholas Cage's reclusive, dirty, woods-dwelling chef character reminded me of the crazy chef Adam (Adam Arkin) from N.E., and my sister kind of mumbled something back...

Later on in the film, Nicholas Cage sits across from a rich and powerful figure in the story, and my jaw kind of dropped, I said, "You know what? I think that's really Adam!"

My sister finally admitted she had no memory, "Who is this 'Adam' you keep talking about?"

"You know... that dirty, crazy genius who went to Northern Exposure to cook!"

She thought a bit and then her eyes widened with realization, she finally remembered and agreed that it actually looked like him. I confirmed it with IMDB, and we were both able to appreciate the extra layer of depth it gave to the movie.
