I'm I the only one who wants to change the channel whenever Drew puts Ross Matthews on?
I can't be the only one who finds him obnoxious and this show's "Scrappy". I think that there's concern about saying that out loud out of fear of immediately being accused of being homophobic, but it wouldn't surprise me if gay people themselves are uncomfortable with him too.
I hate to say this, but Ross whether he likes it or not, easily comes across on the surface, as a walking, talking caricature/stereotype of what most people expect a gay man is going act like: very effeminate and nelly (complete with Ross' shrill, shrieky, high pitched voice), limp-wristed, sassy, and flamboyant.
I doubt that Ross doesn't mean to come across this way on camera, but he does quite frankly can appear as a bit of a "minstrel show"/circus clown act for gay people. I've read comments from people online who say that it isn't so much his effeminacy that's an issue in itself (since that's essentially who he is at heart), it's that he seems to take it a whole new level for the sake of entertainment. Basically, much of his on air personality is likely an affectation. There is no way he is like that when he's in private.

I can probably tolerate Ross in small does like when he would make appearances on Jay Leno's talk show back in the day. But I've noticed that Drew has had him on in the past month or so, more and more as if she's making him her own Ed McMahon/Andy Richter. But Drew herself, already has a very big, effervescent personality so there's nobody beside her to counterbalance her by being more calm and down to earth acting.
