Sexual Innuendos (SPOILERS)

First off, i'd like to say that i really enjoyed this movie! The pace was really good, the story was simple, and yet it was executed really well!

Now don't take this as a complaint. But i couldn't help but notice that there were a LOT more sexual innuendos in this animated film than any other that i had seen (Even Shrek...)

*Spoilers Ahead*
(These aren't in any particular order other than the order i remember them in)

1.) When Buck shoos away the giant butterfly, he comments "I knew him when he was a caterpillar. That was before he came out."

2.) Buck, Crash, and Eddie are walking off while Diego and Manny stay behind to save Ellie from the raptors(?). Diego tells Manny "I've got your back.", to which Buck comments "Your back? All my buddies always covered my front. I thought thats where all the goods are"

3.) Sid goes to retrieve some milk from a yak nearby for his "kids". He reaches under its belly, placing an eggshell underneath it, and grabs onto an unseen object on the yak's underside, to which the yak responds by chasing Sid, who screams "I thought you were a FEMALE!"

4.) When Sid is finally reunited with the group and he sees Peaches for the first time, he cries "Aww! It's a boy!", to which Diego responds, "Thats her tail."

5.) When trapped together in the gut of a man-eating plant, Diego tells Manny, "I feel tingly." Manny replies, "Don't say that when you're pressed up against me!"

I know theres a few more, but having JUST saw it, i can't remember them all. But given the shortness of the film, this seemed like a LOT more than any other film i saw. Like i said, not a complaint though. I laughed at EVERY one of these. Just pointing it out. ^_^

There's a subtle scene which is Full Marks to 3D Characterization :

In the very beginning, when Scrat first see's the (female Scrat?) dancing.

Observe his eyes. They dolly (track) from one level and then lower ie He is totally checking out her "assets" (his head doesn't lower but his pupils sure do!)

:)

Yeah I remember that! Nice catch, lol.

The birth scene was the one that bothered me. Ellie asks something about did Diego know anything about childbirth, and she's groaning a little and breathing hard. The part where it looks like Diego is "pushing" I think is really lost on a little child. But mentioning the childbirth instead of just Ellie coming back on in a scene and having the child with her meant my child wanted to know where the baby came from. I was not ready for that conversation last night!

I'm surprised nobodies mentioned the line where Buck tells them that he'll tell them the story of how he turned a T Rex into a T Rachel.

reply

I would like to point out that a lot of these are not sexual innuendos. Some are, some aren't.

reply

He cut a T-Rex's penis off with a clamshell

^^^^^^ I'm so tired, and this makes me laugh sooooo much.

Thank you.

Doesn't that suck!? I just hit you for no reason. I don't even know why!

reply

Buck: "Now let me tell you about the time I used a sharpened clam shell to turn a T-Rex, into a T-Rexual".

What do you suppose he meant by THAT? lol

"Negative, I am a meat popsicle"

reply

Those are all meant to be recognized? . They're all meant mostly for adults too, anyway.

Yes, they're sexual innuendos, but kids' films have them all the time now.

Kids films have always had innapropriate material in them, in fact, it's only recent that they tried to be more clever and careful with it. Kids movies back in the 70's/80's/early 90's had lots of language and sexual humor/material. Granted, a lot of the times these things aren't clever or funny, but if it's tasteful enough it can be a great thing.

and yeah, i didn't like the childbirth scene, as my youngest sis love this movie and i have to play this movie for her like everyday... and i have to skip that scene ... she asks questions that i dunno how to answer =///
she's too young...

It's a reference to "coming out of the closet" which is a slang term for letting people know you are gay and accepting it rather than hiding and being embarrassed.

In terms of the film caterpillars "come out" of a chrysalis when they become butterflies. Or a cocoon when they become moths.. I don't remember what the thing in the movie way.

Ohhh.. get it...
