Enjoyable but there are no wow moments

I was waiting for Sif to transfer her life force to Jane but that never happened.

Why was Sif even in this movie if that didn't happen?

The Guardians were wasted as well.

There were a couple of times when they were needed but never showed.

I don't really need 'wow' moments but I would like things to have flowed better.

So, I LOVE Lady Sif. She was so beautiful and cool in the original movie and Dark World. You had a written in 'strong female character' from the very beginning that never felt forced or 'woke' and she never got used enough. I actually thought she died in Ragnarok so I was shocked to see her in here and they completely wasted her. It's almost insulting. I feel 2nd hand insulted FOR the actress! lol. To me, I would have preferred Sif, Jane, and Thor as a team instead of Valkyrie. Sif and Jane have history, there was that slight feeling of jealousy from Sif I would have liked to have seen explored. I would like to see Thor and Sif together! Anyway. I am not sure what happens in the comics so I'm blind to the whole 'life force thing.' I just hated they brought her in for a cameo when she should have been a lead. She deserved that.

There were just so many better choices I would have liked to have seen made. The direction of this movie was all over the place.

Two hours of footage was taken out of the first cut to get to what we saw at the movies.

I'd imagine the rest of Sif's story was in that deleted material

Maybe we'll get a director's cut one day and find out.

Honestly, I don't know if I want to see a director's cut. Director's cuts should be for really impressive, tight, beloved films where the fans are practically begging for more. The LotR special Editions are like this. They filmed so much book influenced and character developing stuff that had to be cut out to make the movie flow better....so getting to see what they cut in a well directed and edited version showed an appreciation to the fans.

I feel the same way about the No Way Home Spiderman movie. Yea, it was a lot of fan service but we ate it up and now they are releasing a new edited version and I am excited to see it. another scenario where I am sure a lot of improve, jokes, and other great moments had to be cut for the betterment of the overall movie. To release more stuff shows an appreciation to the fans.

Love and Thunder though....it's just tacky. You can't edit a movie where you prioritized a cheap joke after cheap joke over the betterment of the plot. 2-4 hours of material that probably would have been better in this film than what was actually used. That annoys me. That's not showing appreciation, that's almost like an apology. 'we're sorry we gave you crap...here...maybe this will make up for it...'. At least the director said he didn't want a director's cut. I dunno. I just think, in this case, if they wanted more Sif then it should have been put in the cut. Hell, she was so wasted in this film, they could have cut her all together and saved her time and them money. Any generic walk on could have given the exposition she gave.

Wow...I sound like I really hated this movie, lol I enjoyed it (to a point) while in the theater....but I just keep thinking about how different it was from Thor and Dark World and I preferred those movies so much more and it gets me riled up, lol I wouldn't go and say the movie is unwatchable and horrible...it just wasn't 'my Thor'.
