Did anyone else get the sense that they overdid the Isaac "BookWorm" thing?

It was SO annoying seeing his friends hanging out and he was ignoring them and reading no matter what they were doing..... Walking down a street, touring a world-famous art museum, playing truth or dare, dancing at prom!! ENOUGH! There is literally not a single scene where he is not seen holding a book.
