I think so, at least.

I really enjoyed it. I really wish I spoke Spanish, but I don't speak a word of it so I really had to rely on the subtitles. So, I think I might have missed a few things since my focus was on them. But in spite of what I may have missed, it was still one of the better zombie movies I've seen. They did an excellent job. I'm going to watch it again and make sure I got all of it.

There is no best found footage movie. That's like saying what's the best shaky camera movie. I'd give The Blair Witch Project the most credit for using the internet into believing it was real. I'd rate that the most scariest of this subgenre because of its originality and footage where you learn about the characters. Think about the power of the witch. It has a Night of the Living Dead (which is the best zombie movie) feel in parts. Rec would be second over Paranormal Activity. For some reason, PA didn't scare me and bored me. Rec would've been better with the fireman using the heavy equipment like pick axes and sledgehammers. It doesn't have to be gory, but some gore would've been okay. It's a R-rated zombie movie. If Rec introduced the background story of the agent and the girl, then the ending would've been better as it would explain the background story and not just have us realize it at the end. I gave this a 6 and BWP a 6.5. Probably will avoid the found footage movies for a while. The trapped in a building movie that was good is Candyman. That scared me.

This and Exhibit A, although the topics are very different.

To me REC is without contest the best (and scariest) found-footage film I have seen.
Just because it's so clever (the twist in the 2d is amazing) and well-directed.
You can't say that about Blair Witch or Paranormal Activities which are NOT directed at all and rely solely on a single concept.
Who said Found Footage had to be shot like real amateur footage ?
Other great and creative FF films are :
-VHS 1&2 (the short format is particularly suited to that genre I think - the segment "Safe Heaven" in the 2 is just an unbelievable masterpiece)
-The Bay (One of the most realistic and yet completely WTF-esque)
-The Visit (the most underrated just because it was shot by the disgraced M Night Shyamalan - but it's a freaking great movie)

What's up with "Megan Is Missing" ? Never saw it but you guys really made me want to watch it ! Why does it have such bad reviews ? Athough I liked "Atrocious" and it only gets a 5 on Imdb.

Blair Witch was always be numero uno for me. I found REC pretty overrated, although if i watched it 10 years ago i might have a different opinion.
