I'm watching Grave Encounters right now at 4 in the morning. I ordinarily didn't watch these as I felt that Blair Witch gave me a bad taste in my mouth. That changed with REC.

REC is what Blair Witch should have been.

I'm not big on found footage/shaky cam stuff. It's too often an excuse to foister cheap crap on an audience. But this one does possess some undeniable merits.

Blair Witch, REC and Cannibal Holocaust. The holy trinity of the genre that will probably never be topped. Inferior but still entertaining examples would be REC2, Chronicle and Cloverfield. You can skip the rest really

For me, yes. I like both Paranormal Activity and Chronicle, but they're not even on par with films like Rec.
