I never noticed this detail.

The bible he carries has a sticker on it that says "Hi, my name is ELI" and can be seen as he quickly covers it up when Solara unwraps it to look at it when she thinks he was sleeping when they were camping in the desert.

I just watched it yesterday, but need to rewatch it to check. So I could be wrong, But I dont think he does not tell anyone what his name is!!! He never actually tells anyone that his name is Eli.

He tells Solara (mila kunis) that a voice spoke to him from the inside, God, and the voice lead him to a place where he found the bible under the rubble. Then the voice told him to travel west and he would be protected as he protects the bible.

So if he finds the bible under rubble, that means he did not already own the bible. So the "Hi my name is ELI" sticker makes no sense. He wouldnt place a sticker on the bible that he cannot see! And he didnt want anyone even looking at the bible so why even put the sticker on it himself? Based upon his own story that sticker has to have already been on it.

His grave stone at the end is engraved "ELI" so one could assume it was his name. So was his name a coincidence, that God told Eli to go find a book that use to also belong to a blind boy named Eli?

At very end, when they arrive at Alcatraz, he says 'My name is Eli' to the guard.

That is a good point. I never thought about that. It is weird he would have his name on it when he is trying to protect it from getting into the wrong hands. Then again what's funny is that the Bible is Braille and since Carnegie doesn't know Braille and Solara's mother says she can't remember how to read it, it ends up being kind of pointless. Still like the movie though.
