almost great

The acting, the music are all great. The action sequences..... are great in some parts and yet take a major stumble in other sequences - like the bit where Pine was hunted in Berlin was dodgy as fuck - motorbike dudes did some dodgy things, which made them seem like utter imbeciles - and the way that entire escape sequence was edited was odd, where scene angles switch for no reason at all (again, very sloppy job in the editing room - they had the scenes, but made a mess of it in the editing room).

After that sequence, things do improve, but then you end up with a significant plot hole - why were they trying to kill Pine? This bit is not explained at all and it seems like even a 5 second phone call scene could have cleared that up, but as things stand, this bit is never explained - which is odd, given that it's basically the premise of the second half of the film.

So yeah - it's so strange, isn't it? This film could have been fixed with VERY few adjustments.
If fixed, this film is on par with the original bourne identity. Not being fixed - it's on the verge of greatness, but falls short due to a few wtf moments.

I'll give it 6.5. It could have been easily above 7 with just a few, but very important fixes.
