Hey guys, correct me if I'm wrong but this was an idea my buddy had said.

I never saw Grindhouse in theater so I don't know if it is true. However, he said in that edit, when the Tennessee part starts it doesn't say "14 months later." He said he had heard that the idea was the second part came first, before Stuntman Mike had perfected his act. Afterwards the first part takes place. I realize it does seem tough considering it seems like he dies at the end, but if you take away that ridiculous kick at the end then who knows, maybe he's left for dead, survives and came back. I realize the DVD version / directors cut ruins this theory but I totally dug it.

Yes the 2nd part is the first Part. He gets away with murder in the end and you can see the transformation.

I never thought of this before, but now that you mention it, he does not have the scar on his face in the second part. Only the first.

Your buddies theory makes some sense, aside from the kick that is.

Because of the scar, the less refined car, and a few other details, it was always obvious to me that this film is two parts not in order. Yet, it seems to elude most everybody. Kind of crazy. Though it was discussed a lot here on the IMDb at the time when it came out.

Can anyone comfirm this? Does the shorter Grindhouse cut omit Stuntman Mike’s death..?
