To those who complain he likes everything

Ive noticed this is a common complaint about him. You have to realize the point of this show is to showcase local joints, and it also helps them get customers, and mst of these places are very hardworking and deserve it. Do you really want Guy to trash their food?

This isn't a restaurant review show. And honestly the food looks tastier and fresher than in most restaurants that would cost more.

Of course he's going to like everything; he's eating the most popular menu items at some of the best restaurants in America! It's not like he's just stepping into random joints off the road and tasting whatever they'll throw at him.

Besides, you can tell when he isn't crazy about something. He's a lot less enthusiastic when tasting it and uses descriptive words instead of "killer" or some other adjectives.

People on the internet will complain about anything and everything. They're just jealous that they don't get to try all the awesome food out there.

He hates runny eggs. He has been polite and taken a bite of dishes made with them.

Makes you wonder why the show includes "dives" in the title then doesn't it.

Also if it's not a review show why does he comment about quality at all? :-)

reply

Because sometimes the "dives" or what look to be crap holes in the wall, serve some of the best food.

I tried 4 places he has shot shows from that were near me in various cities I have lived in. i made sure to order what he raved about. EVERY ONE OF THEM WAS CRAP. I kid you not! This man says EVERYTHING is good. Some of the dives deserve to disappear, not gain more customers. I have not gone to another place he visits.

I can remember one episode of DDD, he was in a restaurant where he tried a seafood dish and you could tell from the look on his face he didn't like the dish. Poor woman serving him can tell and says: "It's an acquired taste."
