What exactly is her appeal?

I think the fact that she does fumble over her lines and more or less seems to wing it during every episode is WHAT makes her funny. It's her shtick. Either you like it or you don't. You obviously don't like it.

She plays up the persona of an apathetic boozy 30-something woman, and I think it's just her personality. I really like her show. There's not much for content since it's mostly celebrity commentary and weird news, but I laugh at something in every episode and I like most of her interviews. It's a fun show, pretty much mindless entertainment, but I watch it several times a week.

couldn't agree more. this woman is terrible. how she has had a show for 6 seasons just blows my mind. must just be about who you know in hollywood.

She also kisses all her guest's asses. I remember her telling New York that "she was pretty"

"So, you wrote a bad play and were molested, welcome to the theatre."

Haven't seen her perform at all but can believe what you say, having just seen her for the first time as the star of "Who Do You Think You Are?". Came across as hard as nails -- maybe not her fault -- but as thick as two short planks too, which is her fault.
