Anyone else see quite a few similarities between the two?
The director was in Brooklyn at BAM to introduce a screening of THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS some weeks ago. If any one attended, I would love to hear what he said about the film and if it influenced A CHRISTMAS TALE.

Almaric was definitely the Owen Wilson character, do'h.
It actually reminds me a lot more of the show, Six Feet Under; especially with the theme of death looming over the whole story. We had 5 years to get to know the Fishers and their quirks; however, but this movie does a great job revealing details in its 2.5 hour run time.

I agree. This film is definitely a masterpiece of ensemble acting. I had never heard of this director, so Im hoping he will direct another film soon.
